Discover Research Grant
Discover Research Grants are small awards intended to support faculty travel to a conference where they will present professional research that aligns with the Discover Pillar of the OU President鈥檚 Dynamic Strategy by addressing either: (a) healthy aging, or (b) energy and the environment.
What is the amount of funding?
The Discover Research Grant is $2500.
Who may apply?
Both full-time College of Business tenure-track and instructional faculty are eligible to apply, although tenure-track faculty receive preference for the program. Tenure-track faculty are eligible to apply any time during the academic year. Instructional faculty are eligible to apply starting on the first day of the spring semester), if funds remain available. If faculty submit a co-authored project, the aggregate amount of funding available for any one Discover Grant (including grants where multiple faculty are co-authors) is $2500, although faculty may split the grant equally between COB coauthors.
How may the funds be used?
Funds may be used to support attendance at (e.g., conference registration fees) and travel to (e.g., airfare, hotel, mileage, per diem) an academic conference where faculty will present a poster, paper, or other presentation on the research. Grant funds may be combined with other grants/awards (e.g., COB seed grants) as well as faculty鈥檚 departmental annual travel allocation.
When should the funds be used by?
Funds must be used by the end of the fiscal year.
What is the submission deadline?
Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis, until available funds are exhausted. Grants are awarded on a first come, first served basis.
