A look back at Commencement
Dear students and colleagues,
This past Saturday, 237 Heritage College graduates set out into the world to make their mark as doctors of osteopathic medicine!
It has been an honor to witness the transformation of our Class of 2025, from first-year medical students into the compassionate and empathetic caregivers we have come to know and love.
To quote Commencement Speaker Molly Frey: "(Your) journey as medical students may be ending, but (your) impact as physicians is just beginning... Go forward with hearts full of gratitude, hands ready to heal, and minds open to the moments yet to come."
If you missed out on our 2025 Commencement Week activities, I invite you to:

Chief Inclusion Officer Tanisha King, Ph.D., served as emcee of our 2025 Commencement Awards ceremony. The program honored nearly 40 graduates for going above and beyond in their scholarship, research and practice.

Michelle Abduljelil (spouce of graduate Ifa Abduljelil) received the Donna Jones Moritsugu Memorial Award for the unwavering support she provided during Ifa's medical school journey.

The 2025 Inclusion Graduation Celebration was keynoted by Dr. Barbara Ross-Lee, who became the first African American woman to serve as dean of a United States medical school when she joined the Heritage College in 1993.

Graduates assembled below the Convocation Center Saturday morning in preparation for their Commencement ceremony.

"Be humble and embrace the journey," Commencement Speaker John Schriner, Ph.D., told graduates.

"We鈥檒l be there for first breaths and final goodbyes. And the moments to come鈥攖he ones we can鈥檛 yet predict鈥攚ill define our legacy in medicine," Class Speaker Molly Frey told fellow graduates.

142 members of the Class of 2025 chose to be hooded by a designated mentor.

Twelve members of the Class of 2025 were pinned in a military commissioning ceremony following Commencement.

In Heritage College tradition, Commencement culminated with a Kabuki Drop, revealing the newly-graduated Class of 2025.

The celebration continued as graduates and their loved ones reunited outside of the Convocation Center.

Congratulations, Doctors! You have earned silly string and so much more!
