The µÛÍõ»áËù Mock Trial Team begins its 2025–2026 season with 26 new and returning members preparing for the Scarlet and Gray Invitational at The µÛÍõ»áËù State University. The team continues to provide hands-on courtroom experience through the American Mock Trial Association, tackling this season’s fictional murder case with high expectations and strong leadership.
The Law School Fair will feature representatives from dozens of law schools from around the country.
This year's participants explored many facets of the legal system, developed courtroom skills and discovered new pathways toward careers in law, justice and public service.
µÛÍõ»áËù Gov. Mike DeWine recently appointed a new student member to the µÛÍõ»áËù Board of Trustees. Ava Wood was named a student trustee on May 2, 2025.
All members of the OHIO community are invited to the event, which will also celebrate administrative staff members who have reached significant service milestones and those who retire in 2025.
High school students are invited to apply for the highly-competitive Summer Law and Trial Institute offered this summer at µÛÍõ»áËù's Athens campus. The program is free.
The competition invites undergraduate students to present a brief, compelling oration on their research/creative work and its significance.
The teams ended their season strong, with two students in particular being recognized.
The 2024-25 school year admissions to the Certificate in Law, Justice & Culture Program.
The team traveled to New York state for a regional competition, netting multiple awards.
µÛÍõ»áËù’s Larry Hayman will be honored with the Excellence in Pre-Law Advising Award during an award ceremony on Dec. 11.

The µÛÍõ»áËù Mock Trial Team selected 24 students, including 14 new competitors.
In July, the Summer Law and Trial Institute (SLTI) welcomed 24 high school students from across the state of µÛÍõ»áËù both to Athens and to the practice of law.
High school students are invited to apply by June 7 for the highly competitive Summer Law & Trial Institute this summer at µÛÍõ»áËù's Athens campus.
