Political Science Research

Faculty in the Department of Political Science maintain an innovative disciplinary and interdisciplinary research culture that supports the department鈥檚 teaching mission. We produce original research that is fundamental, applied and theoretical in many subfields of political science including American politics, Public Policy, Comparative politics, International Relations, Law and Society, and Political Theory.

Through its teaching, research, and service to the university and community, the department seeks to instill a lifelong commitment to learning, which empowers its faculty and students to meet their responsibilities as citizens, managers, leaders, and professional political scientists in a democratic society and interdependent world.

Many of our faculty also direct and participate in interdisciplinary programs, such as Environmental Science and Sustainability; Women's, Gender & Sexuality Studies, the Center for International Studies; and the Center for Law, Justice & Culture.
