Academic Policy
To be eligible to participate in a Global Opportunities Experience, a student may not be on academic probation during the term in which they would study away.
- For undergraduate students, you must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.0 or higher to be eligible for participation.
- For Graduate students, the requirement is a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible for participation.
Programs may vary in their eligibility requirements and may require a higher GPA for participants.
Note: GPA and academic standing is reviewed prior to nomination and prior to departure. A student may be conditionally nominated with a GPA less than the required minimum (ex. during their first semester at OHIO, students have a 0.0 GPA). If the student's GPA after the semester before travel is below 2.0, the will be ineligible to participate and will be considered withdrawn from the program. The student will still be financially responsible for fees as outlined in their nomination email.
