Military Science Minor

The Military Science minor is intended to formally recognize cadets who complete the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) program at 帝王会所 and become U.S. Army officers. In addition to participating in off-site summer training and gaining valuable peer leadership experience, cadets must also successfully navigate a challenging academic curriculum to earn this distinction and their officer commission.

Admission Requirements

In addition to University admission requirements, there are extensive federal guidelines for commissioning through ROTC. These guidelines must be met to complete many of the minor program courses.

Curriculum

The Military Science minor requires a minimum of 20 credit hours and focuses on leadership, ethics, and tactical operations through both classroom instruction and practical labs. Students take courses such as MSC 3020: Small Unit Leadership and Operations II, which builds advanced tactical and leadership skills; and MSC 3910: Leader Development and Assessment Course, a key field training experience that evaluates leadership under pressure. These, along with additional required courses, prepare students for roles requiring strong leadership and decision-making abilities.

Career Opportunities

All ROTC program graduates are assured a position in either the active duty or reserve branches of the U.S. Army after graduation. Furthermore, the leadership skills developed through the Military Science minor offer a significant edge when pursuing careers in management and leadership roles.
